Is The Nissan X-Trail Worth Buying With A 20 Lakh Discount At BBT?
The X-Trail has not been a sales success and ever since its launch it has been the one of the least selling cars with only a handful of these cars ever being dispatched to dealers. At our drive we liked the X-Trail for its engine and the way it drove while comfort levels were good as well. However as we pointed out, it missed out on premium features available in SUVs costing less than half and it was simply too expensive. Hence, the X-Trail has been a huge flop which means BBT, a luxury used car dealer is selling zero mileage examples with a whopping Rs 20 lakh plus price cut.

These are 2024 models which were imported into India. Which means from near Rs 50 lakh to Rs 29.50 lakh which brings the question whether it is worth buying or not. The X-Trail on sale in India has some USPs like the engine, comfort and looks but some of the features are missing and things like the seats themselves lacked the luxury factor. Plus, with no diesel, the X-Trail failed with its sky-high price. Now at a lower price it does sound like a much better deal with BBT offering it at a price which is much lower than rival SUVs.
However, with this imported car, spares could be an issue too with Nissan not having sold many. That said, for something rare and for the price, the X-Trail could be an interesting bet considering the reduced price makes it a far more enticing proposition than what it was when launched. With Renault now owning Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd, Nissan could change as a carmaker in India although as of now its plans remain the same with a new SUV and MPV due for launch in India next year.
