Pakistan's support for terrorists exposed: Islamabad used UNSC membership to omit TRF from Pahalgam attack statement

Pakistan, which is a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), has reportedly used its powers to amend the press statement of the panel condemning the deadly Pahalgam attack.
The claim was made by Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar while addressing the country's national assembly.
The UNSC press statement needs to be approved by all 15 nations, including the five permanent and 10 non-permanent members.
Dar said that he had objected to two things in the original statement. He claimed that only Pahalgam was mentioned initially. "I thought this was not acceptable. You have to write Jammu and Kashmir along with Pahalgam," he said.
The minister said The Resistance Front, which he referred to as The Resistance Forum, was blamed for the attack. He said the TRF was not a terror group but a "forum" formed by the locals.
However, Indian security agencies have revealed that the TRF is a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba. However, the Pakistani minister claimed the TRF cannot be singled out in the UNSC statement without evidence.
"I received phone calls from big capitals to come to a consensus on the draft, but I told them nothing doing," Dar said.
Interestingly, the final statement condemned the attack in Jammu and Kashmir "in the strongest terms" but failed to mention "Pahalgam".
“Terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security,” the statement said, adding that such acts are "criminal and unjustifiable, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed."
UN Spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric has urged both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and not to deteriorate the situation further.
