Residents won’t face water crunch in summer: Minister

Haryana’s Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi assured the people of the Narwana Assembly constituency that there would be no shortage of water during summer. If any problem arises, he would meet the officials and get it resolved, he said.

The minister was giving necessary instructions by holding a meeting of officials of the departments concerned in Narwana in view of the problem of drinking water. He said the Punjab Government had decided to stop canal water in Haryana, which was irresponsible. He said Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini was constantly monitoring the issue and a solution would be found soon. There might be some problem of drinking water in some urban areas of Haryana, including Narwana, Barwala, Narnaund, Hansi, Hisar and Bhiwani, but there was no reason to worry.

He said the state government and the administration were looking into this and people would not face any problem.

He said the officials should make a water schedule and keep supplying water area wise from time to time so that there was no shortage of water in the city and villages.

In this regard, the Chief Minister had also issued orders to the officials concerned. He said instructions were also given to the officials of the Public Health, Panchayat Department and Public Works Department to send water tankers to the areas concerned to solve the problem temporarily. Apart from this, motors for 24-hour water supply would also be arranged at Dhakal Head, so that there was continuous supply of water in tanks, tankers and pipes.

He said in view of the shortage of drinking water, a plan had been prepared with the officials of CEO zila parishad, XEN Irrigation, Public Health, Public Works Department and Electricity Department, and all officers of the Municipal Council and their entire staff would also cooperate in this. He said no official would take leave and no negligence tolerated. All officers would be present whenever required.

The Cabinet Minister appealed to the residents to postpone some non-essential work at the time in view of the possible shortage of water in the summer season.

Bedi, while listening to the public problems at his residence in Narwana, directed the officials concerned to solve the problems of the people. He said if anyone came to the departments concerned with his problems, then the officials must listen him/her carefully and solve the problem immediately. If there was any technical obstacle in solving the problem, then they must explain it to the person concerned. He said he always stood up for the common people.
