A shocking road accident was caught on a dashcam on Sarjapur Road in Bengaluru, on Monday, showing two bikers narrowly escaping being crushed under a bus.

The incident took place when the two bike-clad men tried to speed and overtake the heavy vehicle, but were hit by a parked van.

The video, now going viral on social media, begins with regular traffic movement on the busy road — scooters and cars passing by a stretch of roadside stores. But within seconds, the footage records the bikers overspeeding and carelessly overtaking.

More details

The two-wheeler, carrying a rider and a pillion passenger (both without helmets), can be seen dodging traffic and constantly overtaking vehicles. After overtaking a white car, the biker attempted to cross a white bus ahead by squeezing through a narrow space on the left side of the road.

However, they seemingly failed to notice a couple of parked vehicles — an auto-rickshaw and a van. While trying to edge past the bus, the bike collided with the parked van. The rider lost control, and both men fell.

The visuals showed the duo getting tossed in the air and being thrown downwards on the busy road, landing just inches away from the moving bus’s wheels.

Fortunately, they saw a narrow escape when the bus managed to avoid running them over.

The bus stopped a few metres ahead at a signal. Locals quickly rushed to the spot to help the injured bikers.

Details about their health condition remain unclear. So far, there are no reports about police action in the matter.

The entire incident was recorded by a car’s dashcam behind the two-wheeler.
