Baran PWD engineer nabbed taking bribe of Rs. 5 lakhs

An executive engineer from the Public Works Department (PWD) in Baran was apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Kota for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5 lakhs. The engineer, Ajay Singh, had demanded Rs. 20 lakhs for sanctioning pending bills worth Rs. 6-7 crores from a road construction contractor. He was caught red-handed at the Baran circuit house.
