Pakistan claims it shot down Indian 'spy' quadcopter that violated its airspace along LoC

Amid the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan in the wake of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Pakistan has claimed that it shot down an Indian quadcopter which allegedly violated the airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Manawar sector of Bhimber district.

“Pakistan has successfully shot down an Indian quadcopter along the Line of Control, thwarting a violation of its airspace,” Dawn said, citing Radio Pakistan and PTV News report which cited security sources.

According to security sources, “enemy attempted to conduct surveillance using a quadcopter...The Pakistan Army, through timely action, foiled this nefarious attempt by the enemy.”

They claimed that the action is a testimony to the vigilance, professional skill and defensive preparedness of the Pakistan Army.

“The Pakistan Army is always ready to give an immediate and effective response to any aggression from the enemy,” the report further claimed.

Amid the escalating tensions between the two sides, Pakistan has been resorting to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control. "During the night of April 28-29, the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked small arms firing across the LoC in areas opposite Kupwara and Baramulla districts, as well as the Akhnoor sector," a defence spokesperson said on Tuesday.
