Pahalgam Attack: Key Terrorist Hashim Musa Was Ex-Pakistani Army Commando

A major revelation has emerged in the investigation into the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Among the three identified terrorists—Adil Hussain Thokar, Li Bhai, and Hashim Musa—it has now been confirmed that Hashim Musa, also known as Suleman or Asif Fauji, was a former Pakistani Army commando. According to intelligence sources, Musa was part of Pakistan’s elite Special Security Group (SSG), and his military background has raised serious alarms for Indian security agencies.Musa, originally named Asif, earned the nickname "Fauji" due to his previous service in Pakistan’s armed forces. His involvement further strengthens India’s claim that the attack was Pakistan-sponsored. Agencies are now probing whether the same terror group was behind the December 2023 ambush on an Indian Army convoy in Poonch, where a soldier was brutally mutilated post-attack.This development underlines the increasing pattern of Pakistan’s direct military elements being embedded in cross-border terrorism. The possibility of former Pakistani soldiers infiltrating Indian territory and participating in such acts is being taken seriously at the highest levels of national security.
