Hisar MC chief orders swift action on property tax dues

Municipal Commissioner Neeraj has directed the Property Tax branch of the Municipal Corporation Hisar to expedite the self-certification process of property IDs and take swift action to recover large outstanding property tax dues.

He issued the instructions while chairing a meeting with officials and staff of the Property Tax Department at the main auditorium of the Municipal Corporation on Monday. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Shalini Chetal, Joint Commissioner Dr Preetpal Singh, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Virender Saharan, Secretary Sanjay Sharma and subject experts Anand Swaroop and Rajkumar Shaokand.

Commissioner Neeraj instructed officials to form dedicated teams to carry out the self-certification and recovery tasks. He said he would monitor the progress of each team. Officials were also asked to compile a list of major tax defaulters and issue notices for recovery of dues. If payments are not received following the notices, sealing action against such properties would be initiated, he added.

Highlighting the importance of property ID self-verification, Neeraj stated it provides numerous benefits, including legal and financial security by confirming undisputed ownership. It also simplifies future amendments and eases the selling process by offering verified property details to prospective buyers.
