28 health officials shifted in major rejig in Delhi
The Delhi Government on Monday announced a major reshuffle across its healthcare administration, transferring 28 senior doctors and medical officers to new positions with immediate effect.
According to the official order issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, key appointments include Dr Rati Makkar, previously with Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Hospital, who has been posted as Director General of Health Services.
Dr BL Chaudhary, Director of Forensic Science at DDU hospital, will now serve as Medical Director of Lok Nayak Hospital.
Among other prominent postings were of Dr Muhammad Abid who has been transferred as Medical Director of Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, Dr Suresh Kumar will assume the charge as Director Principal of Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Medical College and Dr Hema Malik has been named Medical Director of Burari Hospital.
Several medical superintendents (MS) have also been reassigned including D. Manoj Kumar and Dr Jyotsana Bharti will now head the Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital and the Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital, respectively.
The order specifies that officers will not receive any additional remuneration for their new roles.
Furthermore, the government has instructed the officials to assume their new posts without awaiting formal relieving orders from their current departments.
“Handing over and taking over of charge is to be done immediately," the notification, accessed by The Tribune, read, warning that non-compliance would be taken seriously.
The reshuffle is seen as part of a broader effort by the Delhi administration to strengthen leadership across major healthcare institutions and improve service delivery.
Copies of the order have been circulated to top officials, including the Lieutenant Governor, the Chief Minister, and the Minister of Health.
