Video Shows Tourist Ziplining During Pahalgam Terror Attack As People Flee Amid Gunshots

A disturbing video capturing the Pahalgam terror attack has surfaced on social media, purportedly showing the chilling moments when militants attacked Baisaran Valley on April 22. The footage, unintentionally recorded by a tourist from Ahmedabad riding a zipline, shows people fleeing in panic as gunfire erupts. Towards the end of the video, a body can be seen lying motionless on the ground.

The video begins with a zipline operator raising "Allahu Akbar" slogans before releasing the tourist for the ride. While the visibly happy tourist records his zipline experience, the sounds of gunshots indicate that the attack was being carried out at the same time. People on the ground are seen running; one of them even collapses on the ground. A loud cry can be heard before the video ends.

ABP could not independently check the veracity of the video. It contains references to violence. Viewer discretion is advised.

The video of the incident has drawn strong reactions from netizens. Some viewers also expressed shock about the tourist who unknowingly recorded the incident, with one user noting, “I’m shocked! The guy has no situational awareness. Can he not hear the gunshots? Maybe because his ears are covered? I don’t know about anyone else, but I would have been running for cover. I see no survival instincts.”

India's Response After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Previously, eyewitnesses reported that the terrorists separated tourists based on gender and religion before asking the men to recite the ‘kalma’. Those who failed were executed at point-blank range.

The April 22 incident is the deadliest attack on civilians on Indian soil since 2008. Initial findings suggest that the four attackers were trained in camps located in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to carry out the assault. While Pakistan has denied involvement, calling for a “neutral probe”, India has taken several measures to mount pressure on Islamabad.

In response to the attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowed to deliver justice to the victims’ families, calling the Baisaran massacre a heinous crime. In a swift move, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and revoked visas issued to Pakistani nationals under 12 categories.

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly has also moved a resolution denouncing the attack, while former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah stated that he failed in his role during such incidents.
