Maharashtra Day 2025: Traffic diversions, road closures, no-parking zones in Mumbai on THIS day | Check key routes to avoid

Maharashtra Day: Celebrated on May 1 every year, Maharashtra Day or Maharashtra Din marks the formation of the state of Maharashtra in 1960. This year’s celebrations will feature a grand parade at Shivaji Park, Dadar. In preparation, Mumbai Traffic Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory, listing road closures, diversions, and no-parking zones.

Traffic Advisory for May 1

Traffic restrictions will be enforced from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on May 1 in the Shivaji Park area. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid this zone to prevent delays.

Road Closures in Mumbai on May 1

  • Keluskar Road South and North: Completely closed for general vehicles. Only vehicles with valid invites will be allowed access.
  • SK Bole Road: From Siddhivinayak Junction to Portuguese Church Junction, traffic will be allowed only one-way.
  • Swatantraveer Savarkar Road: No entry from Siddhivinayak Junction to Yes Bank Junction.
  • Western Suburbs Traffic: Vehicles heading toward the western suburbs will be rerouted via SK Bole Road, Portuguese Church, Gokhale Road, LJ Road, and Raja Bade Chowk.
  • South Mumbai Bound Traffic: Vehicles must take Pandurang Naik Road, Raja Bade Chowk, LJ Road, and Gokhale Road.

  • Keluskar Road (South & North)
  • Pandurang Naik Road
  • NC Kelkar Road (from Gadkari Chowk to Kotwal Garden)
  • Citizens without a car pass are urged to park at designated Kohinoor Parking Lots near Plaza Cinema on JK Sawant Road, Dadar (West).

Advisory for Commuters
