For update, you will have to go to the portal and choose the option. For example, separate option for changing mobile number, separate option for changing address. Related documents will have to be uploaded. The change will be updated in all the documents in three working days.
How to get a new identity card?
- With the change, there will be an option on this portal to get a new identity card. For this, you will have to apply on the portal by paying a fee.
- The identity card with the new update will reach people’s homes through post within 7 working days.
- There is also an option for those who want to get the identity card by going to the office.

There were some technical and legal problems, which are in the final stage of resolution. Especially there was a challenge to create a full proof system to keep the data safe, which is being accomplished. In the trial runs done so far, more than 92% accuracy has been achieved.
As soon as 98% or more accuracy is achieved, it will be implemented for testing. A few months after that, this portal will be launched for the general public, i.e. it can start soon. The name of the portal has not been decided yet. Its name will be decided after the final testing is completed.
