Virat Kohli mocks KL Rahul as he recreates his Bengaluru celebration at Ferozeshah Kotla
Virat Kohli cheekily recreated KL Rahul’s “Kantara” celebration after Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in their 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Sunday.
The moment comes after DC had defeated RCB at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 10. Back then, Rahul, leading DC, had celebrated the victory by thumping his chest, pointing to the ground, and tapping his bat—a tribute, he later revealed, to the Kannada movie “Kantara”. Rahul, a Karnataka native who previously played for RCB in the 2013 and 2016 seasons, suggested a deep connection to the Chinnaswamy Stadium during that celebration.
Kohli, who hails from Delhi and represents the state in domestic cricket, seized the opportunity after RCB’s win at his home ground. After winning the match, he recreated Rahul’s chest-thumping move, sparking laughter from the DC skipper himself.

On the match front, RCB’s win pushed them to the top of the IPL 2025 points table. Chasing 163, Krunal Pandya starred with an unbeaten 73 off 47 balls, guiding RCB home with nine balls to spare. Kohli also hit his sixth half-century of the season, scoring 51 off 47 balls to claim the Orange Cap.
For DC, Rahul top-scored with 41 off 39 balls, but regular wickets stalled their momentum. Tristan Stubbs provided a boost with 34 off 18 balls, helping DC post 162 for 8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/33) and Josh Hazelwood (2/36) shared five wickets between them, while Krunal Pandya and Yash Dayal chipped in with a wicket each. Despite a tight bowling performance from Axar Patel (2/19), DC could not defend their total against a resurgent RCB side.
