Akash, Isha And Anant’s Role In Reliance Industry
Akash Ambani, elder son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, joined Reliance in the year 2014. He has been serving as the chairman of Reliance’s telecom unit, Jio Infocomm. In recent years, he has cracked several billion dollar deals for the company. As per a report, the latest mega deal was with Disney Star which is a part of merger between Hotstar and Jio Cinema.
Isha Ambani joined Reliance Retail Ventures’ board in August 2023, heading its retail, e-commerce, and luxury divisions. She focuses on offering high-quality goods at affordable prices within the Indian market, competing effectively with international brands. Her leadership includes managing prominent brands like Ajio and Tira. She holds degrees from Stanford and Yale Universities.
Anant Ambani, the youngest child of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has served as the director of the Jio Platforms board since March 2020. He was appointed as director of Reliance Retail in May 2022 and its New Energy business in June 2021. On April 25, 2025, the company released its quarterly reports and announced the proposed appointment of Anant as a full-time director for a five-year term starting May 1, 2025. Notably, this appointment requires shareholder approval.
Akash, Isha And Anant Ambani’s Salaries
As per reports, Akash, Isha, and Anant Ambani don’t receive fixed salaries. Their main source of earnings is a sitting fee and a commission on the profits that are earned by the company.
According to a report by the Times of India in 2024, Anant was receiving a salary package of Rs. 4.2 crores per year. Which means his monthly pay is Rs 35 lakh.
Nita Ambani’s Salary
Nita Ambani recently retired from her non-executive director position at RIL. Before her retirement in August 2023, she received compensation including a sitting fee and commission, totalling approx Rs 2 crore annually. She also received an additional Rs 6 lakhs for her board duties.
