Madhya Pradesh Government Committed To Empowering Disabled People
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reaffirmed the state government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and dignity of people with disabilities.
At a prestigious ceremony, Yadav distributed 749 assistive devices, including 300 battery-operated tricycles, to 300 disabled individuals. The event was organised with the support of IDBI Bank’s CSR initiative and the Indian Red Cross Society. Speaking at the event, the CM emphasised that people with disabilities are invaluable members of society.
He stated that the government is dedicated to enhancing their self-esteem, making them self-reliant and integrating them into the mainstream. He noted that battery-operated tricycles and other aids would significantly improve the mobility of individuals, enabling them to perform tasks with greater ease and independence.
Yadav also urged private sectors to prioritise employment opportunities for disabled individuals and become part of inclusive development. The ceremony was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including urban development minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, water resources minister Tulsi Ram Silawat, mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav and others.
During the event, Yadav launched the "Disability Employment Portal," ensuring job opportunities for more than 500 disabled individuals in private companies.
Additionally, four individuals were presented with job appointment letters from renowned private sector companies. A total of 300 disabled individuals in the region received over Rs 70 lakh worth of equipment, including 105 motorised tricycles, 41 manual tricycles, 44 wheelchairs, 154 digital hearing aids and various other aids.
The distribution was part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to make the lives of disabled people easier and more dignified.
The event also saw emotional moments as disabled individuals expressed their gratitude. Lakshman Rawal, a recipient from Bhagirathpura, shared how the new tricycle would ease his commute, while Suresh Kashima from Bijalpur expressed joy about how it would help him with his flower business.
