Local activists pay tributes to victims of terrorism in Bhiwani
Local Congress leaders organised a havan in Bhiwani on Sunday to pay tributes to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir. The participants observed two minutes of silence and prayed for the peace of the departed souls.
Expressing their anger and sorrow, the attendees demanded that the Centre take strong and decisive action against the terrorists. Former MLA Dr Shiv Shankar Bhardwaj and Comrade Om Prakash stressed that the time had come to crush terrorism, urging the Modi government to take strict actions to eradicate it and implement stronger security measures in Jammu & Kashmir.
District coordinator (urban) Devaraj Mehta emphasised that the Prime Minister should keep his word and ensure that the terrorists are given severe punishments, ultimately eliminating the threat of terrorism. Another activist Pradeep Gulia stated that India had already suffered from such divisive forces during the country’s partition, but the diverse religions in India were united in the fight against terrorism.
The Jan Sangharsh Samiti in Bhiwani, along with the All Employees Union and Retired Employees Union, organised a seminar to address the issue of terrorism and strengthen national security. The seminar was attended by Suraj Bhan Jatasra and Ratan Kumar Jindal. Samiti coordinator Om Prakash, secretary Sajjan Kumar Singla, and district president of the Vigyan Samiti, master Wazir Singh, condemned the brutal killing of 28 innocent tourists in Pahalgam and expressed condolences to the victims’ families. They urged the Centre to ensure that the terrorists involved were given harsh punishment and that the unity and peace within the country was maintained.
Meanwhile, in Badhra block of Charkhi Dadri, Congress workers held a candle march to protest the Pahalgam attack. Led by former MLA Somveer Singh, the participants marched from the Badhra’s Jangra Dharamshala to the Shaheed Smarak, raising slogans against terrorism. Singh condemned Pakistan for its role in such attacks, stating that India should not tolerate any more provocative actions from its neighbour.
