Rs 20-crore teaching block inaugurated at Sirsa varsity
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday inaugurated a new teaching block at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), Sirsa, marking a milestone in the university’s growth. Constructed for Rs 20 crore, the building has been named after Ahilyabai Holkar, the renowned 18th-century social reformer.
In his address, CM Saini said the dedication of the building honours Holkar’s legacy of education, justice and women’s empowerment. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing higher education in the state and highlighted the new block would facilitate academic and research progress.
The state-of-the-art facility includes 20 classrooms, 22 laboratories, 17 faculty rooms, a library, seminar hall, dark rooms, offices, and more, all equipped with modern amenities.
CM Saini noted the year marks the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar and naming the block after her embodies the values of service and education she upheld.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Narsi Ram Bishnoi, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister, stating the new building would enhance the university’s infrastructure and provide a better learning environment for students and faculty alike.
