Jalandhar police returns 110 phones to owners

As many as 110 mobile phones lost or stolen in Jalandhar were handed back to the people by the Jalandhar rural police under a special campaign.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harvinder Singh Virk informed the media that as part of the campaign being run by Punjab Police for the safety of the public and recovery of property, a special team under SP (Investigation) Sarabjit Rai, achieved great success by recovering 110 mobile phones worth about Rs 20,50,000. The phones were handed back to the public. All these mobile phones were lost from Jalandhar and nearby areas.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rashpal Singh and Inspector Arshpreet Kaur, in-charge cyber crime police station, along with their teams, worked continuously to hand over the mobile phones to their owners. The development is expected to increase the trust and confidence of the people in the police, said officials.

SSP Virk said the Punjab Police is committed to the protection of the property of the citizens and their welfare. He said mobile phones have become an important part of today’s life. The phones contain a lot of information apart from personal photos. People should cooperate with the police by reporting any theft or lost item immediately, the SSP said.
