1.7 kg heroin seized, four peddlers held in Ferozepur
The Ferozepur police on Sunday nabbed four drug peddlers in two separate incidents, seizing around 1.7 kg heroin from them collectively.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bhupinder Singh said in the first case, the police nabbed two persons. They were identified as Lajar (34), a resident of Khushal Singh Wala village, and Amanjeet Singh (18), resident of Gatti Rajo Ke village.
They were travelling on a motorbike at the time of their arrest.
“During a checking, 1.23 kg of heroin was seized from them following which they were booked under Sections 21,61 and 85 of the NDPS Act by the Lakho ke Behram police,” he said.
In the second case, two persons were nabbed with 514 gm of heroin.
The SSP said the police also arrested three persons allegedly involved in a shootout on April 24.
They were nabbed on Saturday after an exchange of fire and identified as Jashan, alias Teji, Gaurav, alias Krish, and Rajan, alias Kali. The police recovered four weapons from them.
