Identifying, tracing illegal immigrants from Pak: CM Saini

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today addressed concerns about the Pahalgam terror attack and assured that full security measures were in place. He said the police were identifying and tracing individuals who had entered from Pakistan illegally or on visas, and such individuals would be removed from the state.

“Those who attack unarmed civilians will face strict consequences. It’s time for a strong stand against Pakistan,” he said at a public event in Sirsa.

The CM was speaking after flagging off the final leg of the Drug Free Haryana Cyclothon 2.0, which began at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Stadium and ended in Odhan village on Saturday. He expressed the need to end drug abuse from society, calling for tough action against those involved in cross-border drug trade. Saini urged universities to keep campuses drug free and take strict action if anyone was found spreading addiction.

Drug overdose claims life during cyclothon

Sirsa: While CM Nayab Saini was leading an anti-drug cyclothon in Sirsa on Sunday, Gagandeep Singh, the grandson of a former sarpanch, reportedly died from a drug overdose at Khokhar village. His last prayer ceremony was held on the same day, casting a shadow of grief over the entire village. MLA Aditya Devi Lal strongly criticised the government, calling the cyclothon a “show-off" while real issues remain unaddressed. He demanded strong action against drug networks, accountability from local police, and an end to government’s “event politics."  “The CM must stop celebrating and start mourning," he said.

Later, at a cultural event at Tara Baba Kutia, CM Saini took a sharp dig at Congress, accusing them of corruption and selling jobs. He claimed Congress was now only worried about its own political survival. “There’s no threat to the Constitution, only to the Congress’s lies,” he said.

Saini also addressed farmer concerns, saying the government will help farmers whose crops were damaged by fire. He advised them to report losses to the District Commissioner for verification and compensation. He accused Congress of misleading farmers for political gain.

The CM announced development projects worth Rs 61.33 crore for Sirsa district. He inaugurated five major projects, including a new PWD rest house and educational block at Chaudhary Devi Lal University. He also launched irrigation upgrades in Kalanwali and Dabwali constituencies.

During the closing ceremony of the Cyclothon, winners were honored with cash prizes and gifts. Sanjay won the first prize – a bicycle and Rs 2,100. Other participants, including Vansh, Ritesh, Amit, and Deepanshu, received awards ranging from Rs 7,100 to Rs 2,100. Additional Deputy Commissioner Lakshit Sarin gave out the cheques.
