Teenager stabbed outside cyber cafe in Daddumajra

A 17-year-old boy was viciously attacked by four unknown assailants near a cyber cafe at Daddumajra village on Friday evening, leaving him seriously injured and hospitalised. The victim, Sahil alias Lucky, a resident of Sector 38 (West), sustained a deep stab wound to his back and is currently undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre of PGIMER.

The incident unfolded around 8.35 pm when Sahil had gone to the cyber cafe to collect his roll number. Three to four youths reportedly stopped him, interrogating him about another individual. They allegedly showed him photographs on their phones, accusing him of associating with the boy in question. Despite Sahil’s denials, tensions escalated quickly.

As Sahil tried to leave, the group allegedly blocked his way, assaulted him and stabbed him. Bleeding profusely, he somehow managed to reach home, where his family immediately rushed him to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH) in Sector 16. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was later referred to PGIMER for specialised care.

Maloya police were informed of the attack. ASI Baljit Singh and Senior Constable Vikash Kumar, who were patrolling nearby, responded immediately. In his statement to the police, Sahil said he would be able to identify his attackers and called for strict action against them.

Based on his complaint, a case has been registered under Sections 115(2), 126(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. An investigation is underway, with police actively working to trace and apprehend the culprits.
