Five arrested for plotting robbery in Gurugram

The Gurugram police have arrested five persons with illegal weapons while they were plotting a robbery at gunpoint. An illegal pistol with a cartridge, an iron rod, five motorcycle and a torch were seized.

According to a spokesperson for the Gurugram police, a police team, led by Inspector Satyaprakash, in-charge of the Crime unit (Sohna), received information on Saturday regarding 4-5 youth planning to commit robbery at gunpoint.

Following this, the team raided the spot and arrested five accused with illegal weapons. The accused were identified as Javed, Mohammad Kaif, Abhishek Soni, Jasim and Shahid, all residents of Nuh. An FIR was registered against them at the Sohna City police station.

“During police interrogation, the accused revealed that they had committed six incidents of theft in Gurugram and one in Nuh. On perusal of the criminal records of the accused, it was found that Jaseem has a case registered against him under the Arms Act in Faridabad while Shahid has another registered against him in connection with theft in Faridabad. We are questioning them,” said the police spokesperson.
