Shahidi Divas commemorated with patriotic fervour

MENDHAR, Apr 26: With hearts brimming with pride and eyes moist with gratitude, the Indian Army, in close coordination with the resolute citizens of Mendhar, commemorated Shahidi Divas-a solemn tribute to the supreme sacrifice of six valiant sons of the soil, who laid down their lives while selflessly assisting the Army during the 1965 Indo-Pak war.
The ceremony began with a sacred wreath-laying at the Shahid Smarak and Shaheed Abdul Ghani Chowk Memorial, led with honour by the Commanding Officer of the local Rashtriya Rifles Battalion. The air was filled with solemn reverence as the names of the martyrs echoed in the hearts of all present-heroes who, though no longer with us, continue to inspire generations
This annual homage is not merely a remembrance, but a resounding affirmation of the unbreakable bond between the Indian Army and the proud people of Mendhar, united in their love for the motherland and unwavering commitment to her defence.
