“Kashmiris want peace, and people have come out against terror, which has happened for the first time. They have clearly stated that they are pro-peace and have nothing to do with terrorism,” he said.
The NC leader, accompanied by Salman Sagar, Ahsan Pardesi, and CM Omar Abdullah’s sons, described the incident in Pahalgam as a “murder of humanity.”
“We must fight in a united manner and send a message to the world and the nation that Kashmiris have always been, and will remain, hospitable,” he said.
Kaloo stressed: “We are Indians, and we will remain Indians. We are an integral part of this country. I urge the people of the country to hold Kashmiris close to their hearts; do not alienate us.”
Regarding the tourist guide Adil, he said: “Adil has brought pride to the people of J&K. Whatever the Government can do for his family, it will ensure it is done.”
Kaloo added that, as a special gesture, he will donate his one-month salary to the family. “Whatever help I can extend personally or through the Government will be ensured,” he said.
He further stated that tourists should not hesitate to visit Kashmir.
“If tourists hesitate, then we have lost the battle. If they used to come in hundreds, now they should come in thousands. The LG and the Centre should ensure all necessary safety measures so that more and more people visit Kashmir.”
