Meet actor who went to jail, is now a star, challenges Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, his name is…

Vicky Kaushal is undoubtedly considered to be one of the most popular Bollywood star. He began his career with critically-acclaimed film Masaan (2015), and has since mesmerised audience with his impeccable acting skills. A National-award winner with a dedicated fanbase, Vicky is indeed one of the most exciting actors to watch on-screen. However, before Vicky became a renowned actor, he was an assistant director and worked on films like Gangs Of Wasseypur, which also got him imprisoned.

The revelation was made by filmmaker Anurag Kashyap on Kapil Sharma’s show on the Gangs Of Wasseypur’s tenth anniversary. Kashyap then revealed, “We were shooting in a real location without permission. Once we were shooting we got to know that it’s illegal sand mining. Yes! Sand mining was being done by the mafia and during this time Vicky was arrested, but ‘Haramkhor’ director Shlok Sharma one-upped Vicky Kaushal. Moreover, he went to jail twice.”

Vicky Kaushal ventured into Bollywood as an assistant director for this 2012 film. Post this, he has collaborated with Anurag Kashyap thrice. He was a part of the main cast in Raman Raghav 2.0 and the romantic drama Manmarziyaan, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. Vicky also made a cameo appearance in Kashyap’s Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat.
