ABP Live Auto Awards 2025: Mahindra Thar Roxx Wins 3 Titles, BMW i5 Stands Out As Luxury EV Of The Year
The ABP Live Auto Awards 2025 concluded in Gurugram on Friday, April 25. Hosted by ABP Live, digital news platform, the event celebrated outstanding contributions that are steering the country's mobility future.
The third edition of the automobile awards recognised the standout two-wheelers and four-wheelers that have managed to redfeine the sector in innovation, design, performance, and sustainability.
At the forefront of this year’s Auto Awards was the Mahindra Thar Roxx, which emerged as a dominant force by clinching three major titles — Car of the Year 2025, SUV of the Year, and Off-roader of the Year. Meanwhile, Bajaj Freedom 125 earned the Bike of the Year 2025 distinction, a testament to its market impact and performance.

Electric and Luxury Vehicles Make Their Mark
Electric mobility made a strong impression this year. Tata Curvv EV was crowned EV SUV of the Year, while MG Windsor received the EV of the Year honour. BMW’s i5 stood out as the Luxury EV of the Year, and the futuristic BMW CE-02 added to the brand’s accolades by winning in the Premium EV two-wheeler category. Ather Rizta also made waves as the Green Two-Wheeler of the Year.

Luxury vehicles continued to impress, with Mercedes-Benz taking home dual honours. The E-Class secured the Luxury Car of the Year, while the EQS was celebrated as the Luxury SUV of the Year. Notably, Jeep Wrangler was recognised as the Luxury Off-roader of the Year.
Other notable wins in the four-wheeler segment included Volkswagen Taigun GT Line as Variant of the Year, MG Windsor BAAS for Automotive Innovation of the Year, and the stylish Citroen Basalt taking home Design of the Year.

Hyundai Creta won Facelift of the Year, while Maruti Suzuki Desire was declared Sedan of the Year. Kia Carnival secured the Premium Family Car of the Year trophy, and the performance-oriented Aston Martin Vantage sped off with the Supercar of the Year award. Skoda Kylaq earned accolades as the Sub-compact SUV of the Year, and Vinfast VF7 was named the Most Awaited New Car.

Two-Wheelers That Stood Out
The awards also recognised top two-wheeler innovations. Suzuki GSX-8R was acknowledged for its design with the Design of the Year award, and Hero Xtreme 125R took home the Value for Money Bike of the Year. BMW R 1300 GS claimed the Off-roader of the Year title in the bike segment, while Ducati Hypermotard 698 Mono was hailed as the Premium Bike of the Year. TVS Jupiter 110, a reliable option for daily riders, won Scooter of the Year.

Recognising Industry Leaders
The event also paid tribute to the visionaries behind India’s automotive progress. Santosh Iyer, MD & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, was named Business Leader of the Year, while Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki, was honoured as Person of the Year. Hyundai Motor India received the Car Manufacturer of the Year title, reinforcing its leadership across categories.
The awards were adjudicated by a respected jury, including Somnath Chatterjee, Auto Editor at ABP Network; Achintya Mehrotra, a rally driver and auto expert; and Jatin Chhibber, journalist and host at ABP Auto LIVE.
