Jails Turn Classrooms As Prisoners Achieve 96% Pass Rate In UP Class 12 Board Exams 2025
UP Board Results 2025: In a remarkable display of perseverance and dedication, 91 out of 94 prisoners who turned up for the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 12 examinations have passed, achieving an excellent pass percentage of 96.81%.
The results, announced by the UP Board on Friday, reflected the excellence of prisoners across 32 prisons in the state. At the forefront was Agra Central Jail, where every one of its 17 examinees who attempted the Intermediate (Class 12) exam succeeded. The same success stories also unfolded in the other jails - Lucknow (8 examinees), Rampur (5), and Bareilly (9), each with a 100% pass rate.
While the Intermediate exam results were the talk of the town, the results of prisoners in the High School (Class 10) exams were also impressive, albeit slightly less so. Out of the 105 prisoners who appeared, 91 passed, which accounted for a pass percentage of 86.67%.
Both Varanasi and Ghaziabad jails amongst High School contestants witnessed flawless performances where all 10 inmates succeeded in clearing the exam. Slightly lower figures were noted for Agra and Bareilly prisons 16 of 21 cleared in Agra, 9 of 13 in Bareilly, as reported by news agency PTI.
