Crackdown In Telangana: DGP Orders 208 Pakistani Nationals To Exit State Immediately

In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, the Indian government has taken swift action by suspending visa services for Pakistani nationals. As part of this move, the Telangana government has ordered all Pakistani nationals currently residing in the state to return to their home country by April 27.

208 Pakistani Nationals In Telangana 

According to a statement issued by the Telangana Director General of Police (DGP), there are currently 208 Pakistani nationals in the state, most of whom are residing in Hyderabad, as per a report on The Hindustan Times. Of these, 156 individuals are holders of Long Term Visas (LTV), typically granted to those married to Indian citizens or with familial ties in India. The remaining include 12 on short-term visas and 39 on medical or business visas.

The DGP clarified that none of the Pakistani nationals in Telangana are currently in possession of SAARC visas, which are usually issued to diplomats, journalists, and athletes.

In an official press note, the DGP stated: "It has been decided to suspend visa services to Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals stand revoked with effect from April 27, 2025. Medical visas will remain valid only until April 29, 2025."

However, the order provides exceptions for individuals holding Long Term Visas as well as diplomatic and official visa holders. The Attari border will remain open until April 30 to facilitate the return of Pakistani nationals.

Pakistani citizens residing in Telangana have been urged to comply with the revised guidelines to avoid any legal consequences.
