India-Pakistan war: Will there be peace? THESE two powerful muslim countries step in, one offers mediation, other initiates…,the countries are…

Following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated to a near-war-like situation. With strong and aggressive statements coming from both sides, concerns of further conflict are growing. In response, two major powers from the Muslim countries—Iran and Saudi Arabia—have stepped forward in an attempt to ease the situation.

Iran has offered to mediate between the two nations. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister has reached out to both his Indian and Pakistani counterparts in an effort to calm the tensions. Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has confirmed the conversation with the Saudi official.

On Friday evening, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi shared a message on social media, expressing Iran’s willingness to help. In his statement, he noted that both India and Pakistan are Iran’s close neighbors and that the country shares deep-rooted cultural ties with each. As a neighboring nation, Iran considers the well-being of both countries a priority. Acknowledging the challenging phase both nations are currently going through, Araghchi said that Iran is ready to help foster dialogue and understanding between them.

Saudi Arabia’s diplomatic outreach to India and Pakistan

In the midst of rising tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack, Saudi Arabia and Iran have begun diplomatic efforts to ease the situation. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, in a gesture of peace, shared a Persian poem by renowned poet Saadi along with his statement. The essence of the poem is that all human beings are connected; if one person suffers, others feel the pain too. The message promotes harmony and love among people, calling for peace across the world.

On the other hand, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed a telephonic conversation with the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan. In his tweet, Dar mentioned that he briefed Prince Faisal about the decisions taken by Pakistan’s National Security Committee in response to India’s recent actions. Both leaders agreed to continue consultations on the issue.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also confirmed his conversation with the Saudi Foreign Minister. He stated that they discussed the Pahalgam terror attack and its cross-border links.

As India and Pakistan remain locked in a tense standoff, the involvement of Saudi Arabia and Iran—two of the most influential countries in the Muslim world—brings a glimmer of hope. While Saudi Arabia is seen as the leading Sunni power, Iran holds a dominant position among Shia nations. Their combined efforts could play a significant role in defusing the crisis and restoring calm in the region.
