Who Is Mahak Jaiswal? Labourer’s Daughter Secures 97.2% In UP Board Class 12

Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education has announced the results of the Class 12 examinations for 2025. Mahak Jaiswal, a student of Bachchha Ram Yadav Inter College, Bhulai Ka Pura, Prayagraj, has emerged as the topper with an impressive 97.20% score. Mahak's achievement is an outcome of determination, discipline, and unassuming persistence.

Mahak belongs to a poor family — her mother, Kusum Jaiswal is a housewife, and her father Shiv Prasad Jaiswal is a labourer. She is the second daughter of her family, after her elder sister, Aarushi Jaiswal, who also hit the headlines in 2018 by achieving the fourth rank in the state in the same exam.

While speaking with ANI, Mahak said, “I have secured 97%, and I’m very happy. I worked really hard, and that’s why I got such good results. My parents, teachers, and sister supported me a lot. I never even told my friends that I was studying — I would just say I was sleeping.... I want to become a doctor.”

Despite limited resources, Mahak dedicated herself to her studies. She shared in an interview with UP Tak that she stopped using her mobile phone completely before the exam season and studied for 9 to 10 hours a day. “I had expected to score 95% but never imagined I would top the entire state,” she said.

Subject-wise marks

According to Amar Ujala, Mahak scored 95 marks in Hindi, 95 in English, 99 in Physics, 98 in Chemistry, and 99 in Biology, making a total of 486 marks out of 500.

Recognition and applause

The overall pass percentage for Class 12 this year was 81.15% with girls beating boys once again. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated all the students who made it to the merit list and stated that the toppers such as Mahak, will be rewarded by the state government at the district and state level.

Mahak's motivational success is due to pure hard work and unspoken persistence. Her journey illustrates that individuals can accomplish what they desire with dedication and determination — even when the world is against them.
