Rain Alert: Heavy rain, hailstorm and storm expected in 23 states, IMD issues alert
IMD Alert: The weather has changed once again across the country. While on one hand heatwave and heat wave are increasing the troubles of the people, on the other hand the warning of torrential rain and hailstorm along with thunderstorms in 23 states has increased the concern. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for many states.
Western disturbance became active again
The effect of Western Disturbance is being repeated in the north-west and northeastern parts of the country. There is a possibility of heavy rain, lightning and thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal and Uttarakhand on 25-26 April.
Strong winds and heavy rain in the Northeast
Due to the cyclonic pressure formed over Bangladesh and Assam and the trough line formed from Chhattisgarh to the Gulf of Mannar, the states of Northeast India—Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland—will witness rain and strong winds for 7 days, which can reach speeds up to 60 km/h.
There will be no relief in South India either
Heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds will continue in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry. Heavy rainfall warning has been issued in Tamil Nadu on 24 April.
Hailstorm in Bihar-Jharkhand, thunderstorm in UP-West Bengal
Thunderstorms, hailstorms and rain are predicted in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh between 26-29 April. Very heavy rains will occur in Sikkim on 26-27 April.
North India will be scorched by heatwave
According to IMD, heat wave conditions persist in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Bihar. The temperature is likely to reach 45 degrees in these areas from 25 to 30 April. The temperature in Brahmapuri, Maharashtra reached 45.6 degrees Celsius on Thursday. At the same time, temperatures were recorded between 40-45 degrees in Gujarat, Rajasthan, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh. The weather will be clear in Delhi-NCR on 25 April but it will be cloudy on 26-27 April and winds will blow at a speed of up to 30 km / h. Also, there is a possibility of heat wave.
Mercury will rise in the coming days
Temperature will increase by 2-3 degrees in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. Temperature will remain stable in eastern India but may fall in UP after 3 days.
