MDU showcases five-decade journey through exhibition

The five-day golden jubilee exhibition that concluded at the Tagore auditorium gallery on Wednesday offered a captivating glimpse into the interesting journey of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) from its modest beginning to its emergence as a premier institution of higher learning.

The exhibition showcased MDU’s milestones in infrastructure development, academic innovation, technological advancement and student-centric initiatives. Through photographs, archival documents and displays, the gallery was transformed into a walk-through timeline.

MDU Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh said that the foundation day is an occasion when the university remembers its roots and celebrates its glorious journey. “By showcasing MDU’s 50-year journey through pictures and posters, the exhibition not only brings alive the university’s rich history but also connects current students, faculty, staff and visitors to the remarkable journey that MDU has undertaken,” he added.

He maintained that over 40 departments participated in the exhibition, showcasing their glorious journey. “This unique exhibition, held for the first time in the university’s history, has set new social and cultural benchmarks that will infuse positive energy into the academic environment and take it to new heights,” said the VC.

The exhibition was visited by research scholars, students, University Campus School students, faculty members, non-teaching staff, dignitaries and guests.
