Gupta takes charge as Sirsa’s new SP

Dr Mayank Gupta, a 2019-batch IPS officer, took charge as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) in Sirsa district on Thursday. Before this, he served as SP in Rewari and as DCP in Gurugram.

On his first day, Gupta shared his priorities. He said that he would first meet district police officers to review the law and order situation. He stressed that the safety of the public and maintaining peace in the area would be the police department’s top goal.

Gupta said all complaints from citizens, especially from those who were suffering, would be heard on priority and quick justice would be ensured. He instructed all officials to be polite to people visiting police stations and work sincerely to help them.

He also highlighted the importance of women’s safety. “Providing a safe and clean environment for women will be the focus for the Sirsa police,” he said.

To fight crime and drug abuse, Gupta said strict legal action would be taken against people involved in criminal activities and illegal businesses. He warned drug dealers and those involved in other illegal acts to either stop their activities or leave the district. Gupta also said the Sirsa police would work closely with police officials in neighbouring Punjab and Rajasthan.
