Miscreants take away Rs 1.25 lakh cash, car at gunpoint in Sonepat
Two miscreants took away the car and mobile phone of a cab driver at gunpoint near Jurasik Park on National Highway-44. In another incident, two miscreants looted Rs 1.25 lakh at gunpoint from a liquor shop near Rathdhana village. The police suspect that both crimes were committed by the same men.
The Sonepat police have registered two separate cases at two police stations and began probe into the matter.
Aas Mohammad of Narela in Delhi, in his complaint to the Bahalgarh police, said that he is a cab driver. He was near Singhu border late on Wednesday when two youths came to him and booked his taxi for Rs 1,500. When they reached near Jurasik Park, one of the youth asked him to stop the car as they wanted to pick a woman from there. When Aas Mohammad stopped the car, the youth came to the driver’s side and pointed a pistol at Aas Mohammad. The other youth pulled him out the car. Leaving Aas on the roadside, they said that the car would be back after two hours at the same place and that they were going to commit some crime. They took away his mobile phone and drove away towards Panipat.
In the other incident, two miscreants looted Rs 1.25 lakh cash and a mobile phone from a liquor shop in Rathdhana village after assaulting two salesmen there. They also fired a shot there. Jitender (42) of Rajpur village — in his statement to Sector 27 police — said that he works as a salesman at a liquor shop near Rathdhana on NH-334B. He, along with his colleague Surjeet of Hardoi in Uttar Pradesh, was sitting at the cash counter on Wednesday night. Two youths in a car came there and attacked them. One of the youths who had long hair fired at the liquor bottles.
Then they robbed Rs 1.25 lakh from the cash box, and took away Surjeet’s mobile phone. Then, they drove away towards Meerut in UP. Narender Kadyan, DCP Crime, said both crimes were committed by the same miscreants. — TNS
