Arijit Singh CANCELS Chennai Concert After Pahalgam Terror Attack, Ticket Holders To Receive Refund

In a mark of respect and solidarity following the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam, singer Arijit Singh has cancelled his upcoming concert in Chennai. The show, which was scheduled for Sunday (April 27), has been called off in light of the national tragedy that claimed 26 innocent lives, including tourists and a brave local horse-rider.

On Thursday, the event organisers shared an official statement on Instagram announcing the cancellation.

"In light of the recent and tragic events, the organisers along with the artist have collectively made the decision to cancel the upcoming show scheduled to happen in Chennai this Sunday, April 27th."

Their statement further read, "All ticket holders will receive full refunds, and the amount will be automatically refunded back to your original mode of payment."

No official comment was made by the singer himself. However, he re-shared the post, originally shared by the organisers, on his Instagram story.

The organisers have not yet indicated whether the concert will be rescheduled in the future.

The Pahalgam attack has sent shockwaves across India, with many from the entertainment industry condemning the violence and expressing their condolences to the families of the victims.

On April 22, a terrorist attack unfolded in broad daylight at a popular tourist spot in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants opened fire on unsuspecting tourists after reportedly questioning them about their religion.

The brutal assault claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including a local horse-rider who was shot while attempting to disarm one of the terrorists and protect the visitors.
