NFR Intensifies Cleanliness Efforts at Stations and Onboard Trains,
In a major push to enhance passenger amenities and cleanliness, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched a special cleanliness and inspection drive. The drive focuses on improving sanitation both at stations and onboard trains, while addressing complaints registered through Rail Madad platform. Special emphasis is being laid on effective complaint resolution and real-time onboard monitoring by assigned officers conducting inspections between stations across the NFR zone.
A key highlight of this initiative is the establishment of Clean Train Station (CTS) facilities at Badarpur and Lumding stations, ensuring thorough mechanized cleaning of coaches during halts by dedicated teams. The cleaning includes high-pressure jet cleaning of toilets, floor and vestibule washing, garbage collection, dry sweeping, mirror and washbasin cleaning, aisle mopping with disinfectants and toilet disinfection. Additionally, onboard inspections are being conducted across UP and DN trains, with any identified shortfalls promptly addressed by housekeeping staff. Major cleaning interventions are also coordinated with primary maintenance depots during pit line schedules to ensure long-term impact. All trains across the zone were comprehensively covered under the special drive, with visible improvements in cleanliness standards, as seen for example in the train no. 20503 (Rajdhani Express), at Dibrugarh coaching depot.
NFR remains committed towards delivering a safe, hygienic and comfortable journey for its passengers. Passengers are also being encouraged to join the initiative by maintaining cleanliness and supporting staff efforts. Through this sustained campaign, NFR aims to align its services with the goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, promoting a culture of cleanliness and care throughout its network.
