Caught On Camera: Speeding Car Runs Over School Students In Dehradun; 9 Severely Injured
Uttarakhand: A heart-wrenching road accident took place in Vikasnagar-Selaqui area of Dehradun district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday, 23 April 2025 afternoon. A speeding car coming from Dehradun-Paonta National Highway towards Nigam Road crushed school students returning home. The injured were immediately admitted to the hospital.
In this spine-chilling accident, 7 school students, a passerby girl and the car driver were severely injured. The condition of three of the injured is said to be critical, and all are undergoing treated in nearby hospitals. The accident was caught on CCTV camera and the footage is now making rounds on social media.
In the video the car can be seen coming in lightning speed and running over the school girl who flung in the air and was thrown close to the drain near the footpath.
According to eyewitnesses, there was a crowd outside the school in the afternoon, and the children were crossing the road.
Then the speeding car coming from the Dehradun-Paonta National Highway went out of control and hit the school children. The speed of the car was so high that it not only crushed the children, but also damaged three other vehicles standing on the road. After the accident, there was panic at the spot, and the people nearby immediately rushed to help the injured.
Police Action
The police have taken the car driver into custody and started investigating the case.
