'Was Like Verbal Diarrhoea': Actress Aparna John Accuses Shine Tom Chacko Of Making 'Explicit' Remarks Around Women, Supports Vincy Aloshious
Days after actress Vincy Aloshious accused Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko of consuming drugs and misbehaving with her, another actress, Aparna John, supported her and voiced similar experiences. She said that Chacko would always make remarks with "sexual connotations" around women when she worked with him in the past.
Aparna told the regional media that Vincy's claims were "100 per cent correct". When asked about the drugs consumption allegations against Chacko, she added, "White powder is all I can say as I cannot state with any authority as to what it was. It could have been glucose."
However, she added that Chacko always displayed an "abnormal and erratic" behaviour on the sets of their film, and that he always seemed to have a "high energy". "He moved around constantly, was restless, said things which had no logical connections and if any woman was around, then his remarks were indecent. Like Aloshious said, his remarks had strong sexual connotations and were explicit. It was like verbal diarrhoea," she explained.
Aparna revealed that when she felt uncomfortable around Chacko, she informed about it to a member of the Internal Complaints Committee, and swift action was taken. "The entire crew made the effort to complete my scenes ahead of schedule, so that I could leave," she shared.
A few days ago, Vincy had accused Chacko of misbehaving with her on the sets of their film. She had alleged that the actor had entered her room unannounced while she was changing and insisted on fixing her dress, making her feel uncomfortable. She then lodged a complaint with the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce.
Post her allegations, the Kerala Police reached a hotel to nab Chacko, but he was seen fleeing the hotel during a drugs raid. He was later caught and was arrested. He was granted bail on the same day.
Chacko reportedly apologised to Vincy later for the incident and stated that his intention was not to make her uncomfortable, and that he had no malice in his mind. He has also reportedly been asked to work on his drug consumption habits by the internal committee.
