Ceremonial Retreats at Attari, Other Places Scaled Down After Pahalgam Attack

Days after the 26 Indians were killed in Pahalgam, a decision has been taken to scale down the ceremonial display during the Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Hussainiwala, and Sadki in Punjab. In a post on X, the BSF PUNJAB FRONTIER said that the key changes will include the suspension of the symbolic handshake of the Indian Guard Commander with the counterpart Guard Commander.

The gates will also remain closed during the ceremony, the BSF posted on X. It further added that the step reflects India's serious concern over the cross-border hostilities and reaffirms that peace and provocation cannot coexist.

"In the wake of the recent tragic attack in Pahalgam, a calibrated decision has been taken to scale down the ceremonial display during the Retreat Ceremony at Attari, Hussainiwala, and Sadki in Punjab," the BSF PUNJAB FRONTIER posted on X.
