Indore Bids Tearful Goodbye To Pahalgam Terror Attack Victim Sushil Nathaniel

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The victim of Pahalgam terror attack, Sushil Nathaniel, was bid farewell by his family members on Thursday.

His final rites began today from his residence in Veena Nagar, Indore. His mortal remains were taken in a special vehicle to Nanda Nagar Church for prayer services. Later, he was buried at Juni Indore Cemetery with Christian rituals.

Sushil’s close ones, including colleagues, also joined the funeral procession. They demanded strict action and justice for Sushil’s death.

Minister Tulsi Silawat also joined the deceased's last rites.

Sushil's body was brought to Indore Airport on Wednesday around 9 pm. It was then taken to his residence at B-68, Veena Nagar. 

MP CM Mohan Yadav pays respect to Nathaniel

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid his respects and offered condolences to the grieving family. 

State BJP President VD Sharma consoled the grieving family.

CM also wrote in his official X handle, "Today, the entire nation stands united with the bereaved family in this moment of unbearable sorrow. I pray to Baba Mahakal to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss. Heartfelt tributes."

Indore Collector Asheesh Singh also visited the affected family on Wednesday morning and paid his condolences.

Tour turned into terror

Sushil was working at an LIC satellite office in Alirajpur. On April 18, he had gone on a family trip to Kashmir with his wife Jennifer, daughter Akanksha (30), and son Austin Goldy (21).

On April 22, around 2:45 pm, terrorists opened fire on tourists in the Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam. The attack killed 27 people, including Sushil. His daughter Akanksha was injured in the leg.

The family originally hails from Jobat, Madhya Pradesh.
