Mahanagar Gas Limited Expands 'MGL Tez' CNG Refuelling Service Across 15 BEST Bus Depots In Mumbai

Mumbai: Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) has announced the expansion of its ‘MGL Tez’ CNG refuelling facility across 15 BEST bus depots in Mumbai. This follows the success of the pilot project at the Ghatkopar and Goregaon – Oshiwara bus depots launched in 2023.

The announcement was made at a special event held at the Gorai BEST bus depot recently, where A.S. Rao, Asst. General Manager of BEST, and Sanjay Shende, Deputy Managing Director of MGL, were present, along with senior officials from both organizations.

The MGL Tez service will now also be available at Anik, Deonar, Dharavi, Dindoshi, Gorai, Magathane, Majas, Mulund, Mumbai Central, Poisar, Pratiksha Nagar, Santacruz, and Wadala BEST bus depot. These depots, spread across key locations in Mumbai, will make it more convenient for commercial CNG vehicle owners, including trucks and tempos, to refuel quickly by booking time slots through the MGL Tez app, available for download on Google Play Store.

"This expanded service marks a significant step forward in improving Mumbai’s CNG infrastructure and addressing the growing demand for cleaner, more efficient fuel options for commercial vehicles" said an official.

“We are excited to extend this service to more areas, making refuelling quicker and more convenient for commercial vehicle operators,” said Sanjay Shende, Deputy Managing Director of MGL. “This expansion is part of our ongoing commitment to deliver innovative, customer-centric, and environmentally friendly energy solutions to the citizens of Mumbai.”

The MGL Tez app allows users to select their preferred refuelling time slots, reducing long wait times and congestion at CNG stations. The collaboration between MGL and Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) aims to improve traffic flow and enhance the overall efficiency of Mumbai's public utility services.

A.S. Rao, Asst. General Manager of BEST, praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to ease congestion and save valuable time for commercial vehicle owners. “We are proud of this collaboration, which not only helps vehicle owners but also contributes to smoother traffic around refuelling stations,” he said.
