Meet actress, who quit Bollywood after just one hit, got married to a man worth Rs 50000 crore, her name is…, her husband is…

Following a successful career in modelling, this actress rose to overnight stardom with her impressive Bollywood debut, alongside Shah Rukh Khan. Despite the film’s lackluster box office performance, her acting was highly praised. However, she disappeared from the industry right after the film premiered and married to one of India’s successful businessman. We are talking about none other Gayatri Joshi.

Ashutosh Gowariker’s Swades, released in 2004, is considered one of Shah Rukh Khan’s finest work. However, his co-star and the film’s debutant female lead, Gayatri, matched him in performance, receiving acclaim for her nuanced portrayal.

Considering Gayatri made her debut alongside Shah Rukh Khan during his prime, this would have created more opportunities for her. But, Gayatri had her priorities set. Immediately after the film’s success, she decided to end association with the glamour world. Just few weeks after her debut released, Gayatri married businessman Vikas Oberoi and bid adieu to her acting career. Thus, Swades became her only Bollywood release ever.

Vikas Oberoi, the spouse of Gayatri Oberoi, is a prominent businessman, who runs Oberoi Construction, a top real estate company in India. According to Forbes, he has a net worth of $6 billion ( Rs 50,000 crore), and been termed as one of the richest men by Grohe-Hurun.

Gayatri may not be heavily invested in acting, but still maintains connections with few Bollywood celebrities. Sussane Khan and Sonali Bendre are among her closest friends.

For the unversed, Gayatri Joshi represented India at Miss International 2000 after securing the Femina Miss India International title in 2000.
