FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata get deemed-to-be university status, Ministry of Education confirms

Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, have officially been notified as Institutions Deemed to be Universities (Distinct Category) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Now, this new status will allow both institutes to award degrees rather than just diplomas and also offer doctoral programmes.
