Pahalgam Terror Attack: Defence Ministry holds emergency meeting as entry route of terrorists revealed
In the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, the Ministry of Defence has initiated a high-level emergency meeting to review the security situation and formulate a coordinated response. According to intelligence sources, initial findings have revealed the route taken by the terrorists to infiltrate Indian territory. They reportedly entered through the Pir Panjal mountain range, passing through Rajouri, then Chhatru and Wadhwan, before reaching Pahalgam. This particular infiltration route, now under close surveillance, cuts through regions with a significant Gujjar-Bakarwal population. Officials believe the terrain and sparse surveillance in this corridor were exploited by the attackers to avoid early detection. The Defence Ministry, along with senior Army officials and intelligence agencies, is now focusing on plugging security gaps along this route and reassessing border control measures. With nationwide anger boiling over the loss of innocent lives, the government is under pressure to deliver a swift and decisive counter-response.
