'Pulwama 2 Moment, Hamas-Style Attack': Ex-J&K DGP Shesh Paul Vaid Links Pakistan Army Chief's Anti-Hindu Remarks With Pahalgam Tourist Attack

Srinagar: At least 26 people were killed in a deadly terrorist attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday. Former Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Shesh Paul called it the "Pulwama 2 moment of India". Paul said that the Pahalgam tourist attack was similar to an October 7 Hamas-style attack on Israel. He mentioned about the "anti-Hindu" speech was given by Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir days before the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

"This is the Pulwama 2 moment of India. This was a Hamas-style attack on 7 October on Israel. It's not a coincidence that Asim Munir (Pakistan Army chief) uttered illogical words two days back, and then such an attack takes place where the religion of the tourists was asked," the former J&K DGP told ANI.

He said that the Indian government should respond in the same way that Israel responded. "Our response should be appropriate, something like how Israel responded... This terror attack was unleashed by the Pakistan army. I have been saying that these are SSG (Special Service Group) commandos of the Pakistan army posing as terrorists," he stated.

He said that India should break Pakistan into four parts.

"It was a well-planned attack... Let them (Pakistan) be alert! I appeal to all the people from Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and POK to revolt against the Pakistan army's terrorist actions and declare independence. India should break Pakistan army's back and break Pakistan into four parts," Paul further added.

Paul alleged that the Pakistan Army chief was behind the deadly terror attack. "All of this is being done under Asim Munir's command... Pakistan army chief wants to escalate the situation. He wants to prove his credentials... Let him first prove his identity," the ex-J&K DGP stated.

The Pakistan Army Chief's Anti-Hindu Remarks:

Notably, the Pahalgam attack took place days after General Munir made anti-Hindu remarks and continued with his anti-India rhetoric while addressing the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad last week.

Justifying the two-nation theory, General Munir said that India and Pakistan are two different nations. He stressed that Hindus are different from Pakistan in every aspect.

Speaking at the event, the Pakistani Army chief stated that every Pakistani should narrate the story of the country to the coming generations so that they should not forget the story of the creation of Pakistan.

"That was the foundation of the two-nation theory. We are two nations. We are not one nation. So because of that our forefathers struggled, mounted that incessant struggle to create this country. Our forefathers, they have sacrificed immensely, and we have sacrificed a lot for the creation of this country, and we know how to defend it," he added.

The Pakistani Army chief also poked India over the Kashmir issue. He said that no power in the world could separate Kashmir from Pakistan.

For the unversed, General Munir was Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief when the Pulwama attack was carried out by terrorists in February 2019.

On Tuesday afternoon, five to six terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam's Baisaran. Eyewitnesses revealed that terrorists singled out Hindu tourists and shot them.
