Navy officer Vinay Narwal from Haryana’s Karnal killed in Pahalgam terror attack

An Indian Navy officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, from Haryana’s Karnal, was among 26 people killed in the deadly terror attack on tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old Navy officer was posted in Kochi.

Originally from Bhusli village in Karnal district, Narwal was presently living in Sector 7 in Karnal city. He got married on April 16 and was holidaying in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, when the terror struck.

He had joined the Navy three years ago and had gone to Jammu and Kashmir for honeymoon. His wedding reception was held on April 19. His wife, Himanshi, hails from Gurugram.

Narwal is survived by his parents, Rajesh Narwal, who works in the Excise Department, and Asha Narwal, sister Srishti, grandfather Hawa Singh, a retired police officer.

Narwal studied up to Class 12 at Saint Kabir School in Karnal and later pursued an engineering degree in Sonepat.
