Nepal condemns “barbaric terrorist attack” in J-K, affirms solidarity with India
Kathmandu [Nepal], April 23 (ANI): Nepal on Wednesday condemned Tuesday’s terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, calling the incident barbaric and expressing solidarity with the Government and people of India.
In a post on X, Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated, “Nepal unequivocally condemns the barbaric terrorist attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and express our sincere wishes for the swift and full recovery of those injured."
Further adding, “Nepal stands in steadfast solidarity with the Government and people of India in this time of sorrow. In line with our firm and principled position, Nepal condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and believes that such heinous acts of terrorism cannot and should not be justified on any ground."
Nepal is verifying reports regarding the possible loss of any Nepali nationals in Pahalgam terror attack, the Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba announced.
In a post on X, the Foreign Minister while condemning the terror attack of Tuesday announced that verification of reports about possible loss of Nepali nationals is underway.
“We are currently verifying reports regarding the possible loss of any Nepali nationals in this tragic incident. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available," Deuba said.
Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said he condemned all acts of terrorism and affirmed support for India.
“Deepest condolences to the victims of the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. Nepal stands firmly with India & strongly condemn any & all acts of terrorism. Close coordination is established to verify reports of a Nepali national among the victims & will provide all necessary assistance."
Terrorists on Tuesday afternoon open fired on tourists in the Pahalgam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The area has been sealed, and a search operation is currently underway to track down the attackers. Security forces have intensified checking at all exit routes to prevent the terrorists from fleeing.
