A day after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 26 tourists were killed, a heavy exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla. Two terrorists were eliminated and the infiltration bid was foiled by the security forces.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered from the slain terrorists. Earlier in the day, two to three terrorists tried to infiltrate through the general area Sarjeevan at Uri Nala in Baramulla, said China Corps.

The infiltration bid was carried out across the Line of Control (LoC) within 24 hours of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
At least 26 tourists were killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday. The attack was reportedly carried out by five to six terrorists. Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF) claimed the responsibly for the attack.
According to eyewitnesses, terrorists opened fire at civilians at a famed meadow Baisaran. The attack was the deadliest in Kashmir since the Pulwama strike in 2019.
As per witnesses, the terrorists appeared in the meadow around 2:30 pm. Videos of the moment when the attack took place are going viral on social media.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also cut short his Saudi Arabia visit and returned to India on Wednesday morning. PM Modi chaired a security meeting at the airport.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah immediately landed in Srinagar to personally oversee the response and security measures in the region.
