Pahalgam Terror Attack: A deadly terror attack took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, including two foreigners and two locals.

The attack took place around 3:00 PM at Baisaran, about six kilometres from the resort town of Pahalgam, which is dubbed as 'mini Switzerland' and is famous for its lush green meadows. Its a favourite amongst tourists from across the country and the world.

The terrorists came down from the mountain in Baisaran Valley in Pahalgam and began firing at tourists in the afternoon. The attack is belived to be the deadliest attack in the Valley since the Pulwama strike in 2019.

Following the attack, security has been beefed up at several places, including Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Mumbai. One 26-year-old Indian Navy Officer, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal was also killed in the Pahalgam attack while he was on leave. He was a native of Haryana and had gotten married on 16 April.
