Scan, share feature benefits patients at Kapurthala hospital

Patients visiting the Outpatient Department (OPD) at Civil Hospital, Kapurthala, are increasingly benefiting from the newly introduced ‘Scan and Share’ feature, aimed at streamlining registration and reducing waiting time.

Civil Surgeon Dr Rajiv Prashar informed that the initiative, introduced under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Health Mission, allows patients to generate their OPD slip by simply scanning a QR code with their smartphones. “This digital feature eliminates the need for patients to stand in long queues for registration. With just a quick scan, they can register themselves and receive a token number, making the process faster and more convenient,” said Dr Prashar.

He further highlighted that the system also minimises errors during data entry and enables patients to maintain a digital record of their medical reports. This advancement ensures that patients no longer need to carry physical copies of reports during their visits.

Dr Prashar personally visited the ‘Scan and Share’ counter today to review its functioning and gather feedback. He was accompanied by Dr Kapil Dogra (DDHO), Jaswinder Kaur (District Mass Media Officer), Sukhdayal Singh (Deputy Mass Media Officer), Ram Singh (DMEO), Jyoti Anand (BCC), Ravinder Jassal (BEE), Priyanka Kaushal, Santosh and other staff members.

The initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting digital healthcare services and improving patient experience in government hospitals.
